Keith Martin Gordey

UBCP/ACTRA President

Keith Martin Gordey is the outgoing President and Treasurer Elect of the Union of BC Performers (UBCP/ACTRA) and the National Vice President of the Alliance of Canadian Cinema, Television and Radio Artists (ACTRA) and Past President of Western Gold Theatre (a company created by Joy Coghill to provide work opportunities for senior artists).  In addition, he is a former Director of the Creative Arts Savings & Credit Union, a Director of the Motion Picture Arts & Sciences Foundation of British Columbia (which hosts the Leo Awards), a Past President of Performing Arts Lodges (PAL) Vancouver (which provides rental assisted housing for seniors and the disabled who have had careers in the professional performing arts) and a former Director of PAL Canada.  Also, numerous juries for the Canadian Screen Awards, the Geminis and the Leo Awards have had the benefit of his experience in adjudication.

Keith studied theatre at the University of British Columbia and acting at the National Theatre School of Canada. Following his training Keith forged a four decade career in film, television and stage as a performer, coach, teacher, director and writer, appearing in 30 some professional
theatrical productions and over 70 film and television productions including a gig for the August 1 st Film Company, the media arm of the Peoples Liberation Army of China. Since the early nineties and particularly for the last couple of decades he has been involved in doing what he can to make life better for people of all disciplines working in the professional performing arts.


Keith makes his home in Vancouver with his wife, Tory, and their faithful canine companion, Kushy.
